Turkey and Iran in dispute over Syria?
Israel Radio is reporting that the London-based pan-Arabic newspaper al-Sharq al-Awswat is reporting that Turkey and Iran may be in a dispute over how to handle Syria.Turkey has asked the Iranians to withdraw their support from Bashar al-Assad and his efforts to put down the revolt against him (those efforts include subcontracting Hezbullah to help the Syrian army).
Iran denied that it is providing any support to Asasd and told Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is visiting Iran, that it has no influence over Syria's internal affairs. Right....
Meanwhile, Syria's ambassador to Iran said that he does not understand why Turkey is allowing Syrian opposition groups to meet in Turkey.
Heh.
