Hamas opposes UN 'statehood' drive

Hamas is opposed to the 'Palestinian Authority's drive to obtain a reichlet through the United Nations.
Ezat al-Risheq, a senior Damascus-based Hamas official, said that Abbas’s decision to go to the UN was an “individual step” that was not coordinated with other Palestinian factions.

“A Palestinian state should be extracted and not begged for,” Risheq said.

“The resistance is the only way for the Palestinians to extract their rights and liberate their land and establish their state.”
What could go wrong?

The Palestinians can't even agree among themselves on how a state should be established. Sure, just give them one and they'll live in peace and harmony among themselves thereafter!
