Yale closing landmark center for studies of anti-Semitism to appease Muslims?

Yale University has decided to close its landmark Yale Initiative for the Interdisciplinary Study of Anti-Semitism (YIISA) ad the whispers in the Jewish community say that it is doing so to appease Muslims.
The program was the first US-based institute to research global anti-Semitism, ranging from anti-Israel and anti-Zionism manifestations thereof to other forms of hatred expressed against Jews.

“The short story is this initiative, directed by a non-faculty instructor, was found in its routine faculty review to not have met its academic expectations and has been canceled,” Thomas Mattia of Yale’s Office of Public Affairs told the Post. “This singular action should be viewed in the context of all the continuing work in Hebrew studies at Yale and the provost’s pledge to fund other studies in the area of anti-Semitism.”

Sources who preferred to remain anonymous, however, said the closing of the center resulted from the center’s politically incorrect activities – that is, taking Muslims to task for anti- Semitic and anti-Jewish sentiments.

Yale, sources conjectured, had been angling to mend fences with the Middle Eastern Muslim population, and the Yale Initiative was a thorn in the university’s side.
Will an institute to study 'Islamophobia' be next?

Read the whole thing.

There is no such thing as "Islamic Anti Semitism". It's a term created to bash Islam and Muslims because it is politically correct to bash a religion but not the people who practice it, as the law won't allow that.

Have you ever heard any Muslim bash and of the Prophets of old? or the Books that God sent? Why should we have to tolerate this bigotry, when we don't dish it out.

Just because some Muslims are anti Semites, why is the whole faith being blamed?

If this is what this institution was promoting (Islam bashing) then it's no great loss. There are better ways to fight anti semitism.

When bashing religons becomes illegal, i'm wondering what the Islamophobia industry will do.

Is "angling to mend fences with the ME", another way of saying: "angling to get some arab money"??

Chayma,

There is no greater source of anti-Semitism in the world today than Islam. Call it the culture, the people, the land, the religion, the ideology, whatever. If you are walking down the street and see a sign saying "Jews created the bird flu" I guarantee you're in a Muslim country. The Protocols or the Elders of Zion and Mein Kampf remain widely read (in many cases as bestsellers)
throughout the Muslim world. Jewish people have faced in recent years 10 times more racist attacks than Muslims have suffered, and Muslims were behind the vast majority of those anti-Semitic attacks.

Your argument kind of falls apart after you acknowledge just much the Muslims hate the Jews.

@ ais cotten19

You contradict your own argument.

greater source of anti-Semitism in the world today than Islam.

What Muslims do, may not necessarily be sanctioned by Islam which is from the Quran, and it's extension (Sharia law)

The Protocols or the Elders of Zion and Mein Kampf remain widely read (in many cases as bestsellers)

Neither are inspired by or from Islam. However, you're right, they are used to demonise, but why are they necessary if anti semitism is rooted in Islam? There would be no need for them.

Your own words discredit your conclusion.
