In Scotland, they can't do enough to please their Muslims
I've noted in previous posts the boycott by certain counties in Scotland against books printed in Israel. But it seems that the Scottish have not done enough to please their Muslim masters. The Muslims are breaking away from the Scottish educational system because it doesn't teach enough about Islam (Hat Tip: Shy Guy via Atlas Shrugs). The Sunday Express has learned parents are angry their children are not being given schooling according to their religious beliefs and claim teachers are even promoting “unIslamic principles and behaviours”.Interestingly, the article goes on to say that there are separate Catholic, Episcopalian and Jewish state schools, but that counselors were afraid that Muslims would be isolated if they had their own schools. Of course, no adherents of those religions tried to blow up the local airport four years ago.
Some have even threatened legal action to force councils to open state-funded faith schools at taxpayers’ expense.
Others want the “relatively affluent” Muslim community to take matters into its own hands, starting with Scotland’s first Islamic high school.
Parents and supporters are being rallied on an Internet chat room called glasgowmuslims.com. One father explains the plan is to “form a steering group of individuals who wish to contribute towards the creation of an Islamic Secondary School for Girls in Glasgow”.
The anonymous man – TariqM – adds: “I have spoken to a number of Imams representing the primary Masjids (mosques) in Glasgow and in principle everybody agrees the ideal solution to education for Muslims would be within an environment that has at its core an Islamic ethos.”
Another member proposes legal action over the city council’s refusal to fund an Islamic state school, stating: “There is a case to be made by the Muslim community against Glasgow Council claiming religious bigotry and discrimination.”
But isn't it funny that in the same area that boycotts Israel, the local schools aren't religious enough for Muslims?
Hmmm.

Atlas Shrugs (as if it has any credibility)is connecting dots that don't exist.
The book ban in Scotland has nothing to do with them pleasing their "muslim overlords", it's an inititiave they took on their own.
The school education curriculum problem with Muslims has nothing to do with it. That is a separate problem.
It's intellectual dishonesty by an Islamophobe (Pamela Geller) to connect the two.
It's counterproductive in fighting the ban too.
"It's counterproductive in fighting the ban too." In other words, it is productive to go along with the ban on Israeli products.
So speaks either a mozlem or a commie who has no idea what the word "productive" means, as they and their ilk have NEVER, in the history of the world, ever produced anything!
Apart from blood,lies and smears.
Chayma: "Wah! Wah! Wah! I'm so credible but Atlas Shrugs is not 'cause I say so."
"Wah! Wah! Wah!The Scots aren't pleasing their Muslim overlords. They're simple feeding in their own anti-Semitic frenzy."
"Wah! Wah! Wah! Muslim schools have their own problems. Nothing bad will ever come out of these schools."
"Wah! Wah! Wah! Pamela Geller is an Islamophobe, 'cause I say so."
"Wah! Wah! Wah! Chayma's here to help you get Israeli books sold again in Dumbodwarf."
TariqM: I'd like to hear him speak with a Scottish accent!
Chayma, the dots connect because they have something in common - Islam. BTW, you look fab in that burka!
@ Juniper
I hate to brag, but no group of people have benefitted humanity more than Muslims. The entire West was built by us. Check out Oxford University's Islamic Dept. It is a testament to Islam's spectacular history and the many treasures and gifts we gave humanity.
@ Rus
What burka are you talking about?
And no, the dots don't connect because Islam is not the dots here. The Book ban has nothing to do with school curriculum. The two are completely different things. The Book ban was started by a councillor because of what he sees as the cruel Israeli occupation.
@ Shy Guy,
I assume there was a point to your rant? Pamela Geller knows nothing of Europe or Britian. Even in the USA she is a discredited. She takes A and B and pretends that Islam is the connection. That you use her as a source, says much about you. She has zero credibility. Her partner in crime (robert spencer) recently went to Europe and got pelted.
You don't realise it, but she is detrimental to the Israeli cause. Lots of American's are realising what the likes of her stand for and distance themselves from Israel.
Wait, I'm so confused now. So unlimited access to books has nothing to do with a "liberal" education? Why aren't the religious programs made an after school program, so that all these kids can learn reading, writing, arithmetic, western civ, science, etc. Then each religion can use the after school hours to teach whatever they want... without public tax funding.
Shy Guy, thank you for posting those. They prove what I said about connecting the dots and pretending that Islam is the glue that connects.
Spencer was pelted by "leftists, liberals and others" in Germany, yet he claims there is an Islamic conspiracy.
There were no Muslims there to pelt or abuse him at that rally.
They were decent people united against fascism, xenophobia, Islamophobia and hatred. They can recognise a opportune when they see one.
Spencer won't be able to buy the smart, only the ignorant swallow his snake oil, and that's because he says what they want him to say.
By the way, do you agree with his revisionist take on Jewish history? He said Jews were better off under Christian Catholic rule than Muslim rule? You realise he is not a peer accredited scholar, merely a self styled snake oil salesman?
Do you think Geller is a good spokesperson for Israel in the USA?
What a joke you are, Chayma. The crackpots in Stuttgart can't stand to hear facts. There's no xenophobia or your phont Islamophobia here. Realityphobia abounds.
