How Israel's Navy will stop the flotilla of fools

Here's the plan.
This time around, the navy has been preparing rigorously for the operation, enlisting all of its Flotilla 13 commandos from the reserves and running different training models with various scenarios, from passive resistance – such as sit-downs – to potential gunfights and booby-trapped ships.

In addition to Flotilla 13 – better known as the Shayetet – the ships will be boarded by members of the Border Police’s Yasam Unit and the Prisons Service elite Masada Unit, both known for their expertise in crowd control and the use of non-lethal means to quell violent riots.

The teams will be supported by snipers – whose job will be to neutralize violent protesters before the commandos board the ships – with dogs from Oketz, the IDF’s canine unit, and operators from Yahalom, the elite unit from the Engineering Corps.

Beyond these personnel changes, the two major changes will be the way the commandos board the ships.

Last year, as seen in the video footage released after the operation – unfortunately too late – the navy commandos are seen fast-roping down from helicopters one by one. The objective this time will be to get as many commandos on the decks of the ships at once with more non-lethal capabilities than before in order to get control of the situation as quickly and with as few casualties as possible.

And if the ships are booby-trapped?

Just blow them out of the water. No need to board and risk soldiers' lives. One deck gun round per enemy ship is all that's needed to send them all swimming with the sharks.

Oh, and ain't it brilliant to announce your plans and strategy in advance?!?!

Stupid Jews!

If Ehud Barak, Israel's defenseless Defense Minister, tells them to bring paintball guns to a fight, show him the door!

His life and his blood are not redder than the men serving under him. We know these so called "peace activists" are itching for more violence and their aim is to make Israel look bad in world opinion, not to effect reconciliation between the Palestinians and Israel.

Let's hope if it comes to that, the IDF is prepared to face the worst.

What could go wrong indeed

Although I'm not especially sympathetic towards the Gaza blockade, I'm glad that there will be a minimal loss of life in this idiotic confrontation (on the protester's side, I mean; nothing's going to be affected by this unless Israel screws up again, and I highly doubt they will).

I will say that snipers and dogs strike me as posing a very high risk of negative propaganda, but then again Israel's never been a country especially concerned by optics.

Rope in the propeller or an EMP pulse to disable electrics, then a tow to Cyprus (with a bulletproof shield on the back of the towboat). If they won't let the boat dock there, just unhitch the tow and leave them near shore somewhere.
