Britain urges citizens to leave Syria immediately
Britain has urged all British citizens to leave Syria immediately (Hat Tip: Dan F). The British Foreign office has urged British nationals in Syria to leave the country "immediately."The question is whether they and other Western countries will even be able to defend their own diplomatic personnel in the event of a 'further breakdown in law and order.' I wouldn't bet on Assad respecting diplomatic niceties, and would not be surprised to see Western diplomatic personnel held hostage or worse.
In a statement posted on the website of the British Embassy in Syria, the Foreign Office says Britons should leave "now by commercial means whilst these are still operating."
It says those who chose to remain in Syria should be aware that it's highly unlikely that the British Embassy in Damascus would be able to provide a normal consular service in the event of a "further breakdown in law and order."

well, you never know, 1,000 Palestinians are left over from the always over-the-horizon Schalit deal. Pick three of the most innocuous, dress them in Hapoel Tel Aviv T-shirts and flip-flops and see how smart these new Arab Spring Egyptian security guys are...

No wonder they lost their empire.
The day is looming that Israel will warn its citizens and Jews in general to get out of the nations where they are residing. Legislation that is now being considered in the US to deal with "terrorists" will give Pres. Hussein Obama powers that could be used against Jews (and Christians) - and would, judging from the fact that Obama now has his knife in for Israel and Jews - viz. ignoring the request to release Jonathan Pollard. It will definitely strengthen the resolve of Jews not to contribute to the next Obama presidential campaign - that will make them expendable.
