What if we went ahead and set up a 'state' and they refused to run it?
This has got to be one of the dumbest ideas I have heard in a long time. The 'Palestinians' are refusing to 'negotiate.' So, reports the New York Times, Israel is going to set up a 'state' for them anyway. And then? What if they refuse to run it? Why are we rewarding them for refusing to come to the table? Does anyone in this country think before they go mouthing off to the media?Instead of a final accord on Palestinian statehood by fall, Israel is now floating the idea of an interim arrangement as a step toward a two-state solution, even without Palestinian agreement.Who is going to run this 'state'? Who will pick up its garbage, clean its streets, provide it with electricity and running water, educate its children and secure its borders?
An Israeli official said that the government was “seriously considering an initiative” that would represent a “phased approach to reaching a final peace accord.” The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the proposal because it was not finalized, added that “Israel would have preferred a negotiated agreement on final status issues, and that remains the case today. But when the Palestinians consistently refuse to negotiate, that becomes impossible.”
...
Israeli officials have not offered any details on the initiative, but have said that Israel is talking about it with “relevant parties,” including the Obama administration.
With the Middle East in turmoil and the West eager to encourage moderate forces in the region, Israel is under pressure to show some movement on the Palestinian issue.
Several Israeli policy makers have put forward ideas. Shaul Mofaz, a former army chief and defense minister who is now a legislator in the opposition, has been pushing his plan for a provisional Palestinian state in 60 to 65 percent of the territory of the West Bank, in addition to Gaza, without initially removing any Israeli settlements.
Israel’s foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, has also said that he is working on a plan for an interim arrangement involving the West Bank.
What could go wrong?

It's an idea, to be sure. If the state fails, then the world will have absolutely run out of excuses to condemn Israel. Well, ideally, anyway. If it succeeds, more power to them. Just make sure the borders for Israel ensure its security and that we hold on to Jerusalem, the settlement blocs, and keep the military in the Jordan valley.
If they refuse to run their own state, 'eff 'em.

Stupid Jews!
The Palestinians won't run it. Is Israel going to force them to?
Here politicians in Jerusalem want to give them a state without their even having make peace with Israel or to recognize Israel as the Jewish State.
Its just one of those dumb ideas advanced to please the Obama Administration. The Palestinians may well accept an "interim state" but they will not negotiate or make peace with Israel.
More proof that Israel's politicians are determined to commit national suicide even without the enemy helping them along to it.
Gevalt!
Are they crazy? This is a bad, bad, bad idea. Gaza should have been a warning. And I've got news: If they set up a state and it's just a rocket-launching pad, the world won't allow y'all to do spit about it without screaming and yelling. _And_ you'll be expected to maintain open borders with said "state" _and_ supply them with electricity and whatever they need--in other words, support and sustain your enemies and never respond to their attacks. Just like Gaza.
This stupid idea had better be stopped.
When will the Israelis realize that giving more to the "Palestinians" only makes the world hate Israel more and demand more? It will never, never, never happen that the rest of the world says, "Oh, I see. Those Palestinian Arabs are unappeasable. They are the problem, not Israel. Now I get it." That will never happen. These are suicidal concessions. Don't make them.
The Palis won't accept it. Israeli leaders do not want to reoccupy the PA or Gaza. Jewish communities cannot be consolidated in Yesha without continual kvetching from the Palis plus Obama and EU reflexive peace processing and Bibi is afraid to just say no more. So Bibi throws this stuff off the back of the truck.
Israel's, mostly, Babylonian, Masonic leaders' first loyalty is the to CFR, the US administration and the NWO. That's why they do stupid things like withdrawing from Lebanon, Gaza and the northern Shomron, implement building freezes, etc.
Moshe Feiglin actually also said that the Pals don't want a state. He used the example of the Mafia collecting protection money, but refuse an offer of a partnership in the business they "protect."
