Breaking: Gadhafi on Libyan state television
Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi is currently addressing his nation on Libyan television. You can watch it live on al-Jazeera here. That prop is a golden hand squeezing an American plane. He says he won't leave Libya and he'll die a martyr. But Israel Radio is reporting that he will turn some powers over to local governors.
UPDATE 7:10 PM
Well, so much for that. Gadhafi spoke for more than an hour, was defiant, conceded nothing, and vowed to fight to the last drop of blood. He seemed to be speaking from a bunker. He claimed he had not used force yet! He was full of threats. Think Hosni Mubarak on February 10 only worse: Mubarak could not find anyone to shoot at protesters.

Qaddafi can count on foreign mercenaries to do what Libyans of questionable loyalty wont: kill his own people in cold blood. And he's willing to go to the end to die in his own bed at home.
Tsk! Tsk! The "American plane" has its U.S. flag on backwards.
