Haifa's twin city raises over $200K by Friday

Boston and Haifa have been twin cities since 1989. This time, Boston has really come through for Haifa.
Combined Jewish Philanthropists, Greater Boston's Jewish Federation provided the Haifa Municipality with $200,000 in aid funds on Friday following the Carmel fire disaster that claimed the lives of 41 people on Thursday and continues to threaten the city's Denia neighborhood.

...

Boston's Jewish community is also slated to send a special delegation to Israel early next week to assist the Haifa community. The federation members are recruiting the help of donors, community members, synagogues and schools in an effort to raise as much funds for Israel.

Consul General in Boston Shai Bazak thanked the heads of the Jewish federation personally for their assistance on Friday.

Donations can be made at the CJP website.
Hmmm.
