Haifa fire update Noon on Sunday
Here's the latest fire update:Things are much better than the first three days.
Planes taking off and dropping water and flame retardant chemicals constantly, including US-supplied 'super tanker' that holds 80,000 liters of water. There are 33 planes in all.
Fire concentrations rated 1-3 (on a scale of 5). No higher rated concentrations anymore.
Still problems at Hai Bar (Little Switzerland), Har Shokef, Ussfiyah, Nir Etzion and Carmel Forest Hotel (a spa in the middle of the forest).
Thus far 50,000 dunam have burned - approximately 5 million(!) trees.
But on the whole a much better feeling today than on the first three days.
In the meantime, there are 27 funerals today for Prison Services employees....
