More of the same from Obama
Shmuel Rosner makes three good points here. First, that once President Obama over-reacted to Israel's construction in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Netanyahu's response was inevitable. This is one issue on which the Israeli government seemed to have made a conscious decision: Jerusalem is off the table for any freeze talks, and no vagueness or doubt will be tolerated in this regard. You might think this is dumb decision, but it has clear purpose: To prevent any illusion of erosion in Israel’s insistence on the status of Jerusalem’s. When President Obama decided to criticize Israel for planning to build in Jerusalem – Netanyahu’s was inevitable.Second, that Obama's pandering to the Muslim world - as he did again this week in Jakarta - is gaining him nothing.
And third, that Obama is going to continue pushing for a 'settlement freeze,' even though that has gotten him nowhere in his first two years in office.
In our survey (full statistics here), we asked the panel whether the Obama administration would keep pushing for settlement freeze. The answer was clear: yes. In fact (as you can see in the statistics page), this was the only scenario the panel as a whole deemed very-very likely. Thus, recent events should make us all put some things in perspective. Before the midterms relations between the Obama administration and the Netanyahu government were suddenly on the right track, but American officials vehemently rejected suggestions that this might have to do with political considerations. So now, one has to ask oneself: is the new round of barbs just a coincidence, or does it have something to do with the fact that election season is over?Well, I said all along that the 'warming' in relations between Obama and Israel had everything to do with the elections.
I think there's also a more general lesson here: Obama is not at all chastened and has learned nothing from his party's debacle last Tuesday. His trip abroad right now is about escapism.
Anyone want to bet how long it will be before Hillary Clinton resigns to run against him in the Democratic primaries? I'd look for it to happen in the summer of 2011.

Agreed.
And Carl - as I observed before Obama can condemn and threaten but he can do nothing without the concurrence of the House, soon to be in the hands of his political adversaries, which holds the power of the purse.
Again the world can very well see the American emperor has no clothes.
OBAMA FULFILLING THE BIBLE
Here are some Bible verses that Pres. Obama avoids:
Proverbs 19:10 (NIV): "It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury - how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!"
Also Proverbs 30:22 (NIV) which says that the earth cannot bear up under "a servant who becomes king."
And Ecclesiastes 5:2-3 (KJV) advises: "let thy words be few...a fool's voice is known by multitude of words."
Although Obama is not descended from slaves, he may feel that he's destined to become a black-slavery avenger.
Or maybe an enslaver of all free citizens!
For more on the Obamas, Google "Michelle Obama's Allah-day" and "Obama Supports Public Depravity." For light on Islam, Google "F. N. Lee's ISLAM IN THE BIBLE (PDF)."
A rose by any other name is still a rose, and Obama will never like us, no matter who writes his speeches.
Well, in foreign policy President Prissy can initiate crises that the House may not be able to respond to quickly--the Pentagon and the State Department can freeze funds and PP's agents in the UN can permit the Security Council to join the General Assembly in actively undermining Israel's right to exist. PP's Islamophile obsession with Jews building apartments is sure a wonder. We await his chastisement against Han hegemony in Tibet. (or a rollback of the Iran nukes program. b'vo ha Moshiach)
