Good news: CAIR recommends that women who wear hijabs only be searched around the head and neck
How much more politically correct can US airport security get?CAIR said Muslims who object to full-body scans for religious reasons should know their rights if they are required to undergo a pat-down, including asking for the procedure to be done in a private place. In addition, CAIR offered a “special recommendation” for Muslim women who wear a hijab, telling them they should tell the TSA officer that they may be searched only around the head and neck.Someone let me know the first time a Muslim is denied boarding of a flight in the US for declining the 'enhanced security measures.' The problem with flying out of Israel is that you have to fly back. This is unbelievable.
In the “special recommendations for Muslim women who wear hijab,” it states: “Before you are patted down, you should remind the TSA officer that they are only supposed to pat down the area in question, in this scenario, your head and neck. They SHOULD NOT subject you to a full-body or partial-body pat-down.”
It also states: “Instead of the pat-down, you can always request to pat down your own scarf, including head and neck area, and have the officers perform a chemical swipe of your hands.”

So far it is only CAIR's recommendation to their members. But if it should become practice, that will be the swift end of full-body screening or 'enhanced' pat downs for all passengers. So maybe we should be thanking them...
This is unreal! Since I'm a Christian, it's ok to "see" me pretty much naked in the scanner, or frisk me as if I'm a criminal. But a Muslim woman can wear a bedroom set of sheets that could hide a bazooka, and they recommend these women should only be searched around the head and neck?!
Since when did the world become so completely insane.
it's easy..
prohibit them from flying..
they can walk...
Tracy said... But a Muslim woman... -------- I doubt a muslim woman would be chosen for secondary screening. Unless the tsa agent wants to open him or herself up to the charges of islamophobia or racism.
yes, there is plenty of irony here, when the people who are basically responsible for the increased security measures are now being excused from them. But it's also kind of ironic that all these dhimmitic overtures by the US govt are basically making the country more and more anti-Muslim.
Good.
Will that hold for Orthodox Jewish wearing wigs or head scarves?
I am just starting to consider taking our daughter to Israel for her bat mitzvah; should we go through El Al screening/profiling answering questions about why we want to go to Israel and our synagogue and then put on muslim scarves to go through TSA security? I have had skin cancer and should avoid the radiation, daughter should not be groped.
