Does the Israeli Left finally get it?

Even Leftist Gershon Baskin understands that the 'research report' issued by the 'Palestinian Authority' claiming that Jews have no connection to the Western Wall crosses a red line.
Gershon Baskin, the joint CEO of the Israel/Palestine Center for Research and Information, sent a letter to the Palestinian leadership in the wake of the Post article, calling the findings “a serious mistake” and “a stain on the Palestinian Authority.”

“If the content of the article is correct, you should take immediate action against the author of the report in question (if he is in fact employed by the PA or by the PLO) because his baseless claims are a serious blow to the legitimacy of Palestinian claims and make a mockery of the idea of peace between the Palestinians and the Jews,” Baskin wrote. “This is a most serious mistake, similar to the one of the late President Arafat when he denied any Jewish connection to the Holy Temple Mount (Haram Al-Sharif) in Jerusalem.

“Any observer, even a non-professional archeologist, can discern that the stones used to construct the Western Wall (the Kotel) are from the era of Solomon’s Temple and the Temple rebuilt by King Herod which was hundreds of years before Islam appeared on the world stage.

“The falsification of history, as done in the report by the Palestinian poet Al- Mutawakel Taha, a senior official with the Ministry of Information, is a serious stain on the Palestinian Authority.”
But so far, the 'Palestinian Authority' is sticking to Taha's narrative. And so far, no foreign power has had anything to say on the issue. If that continues to be the case, will Baskin and others who think like him finally admit that we have no partner for peace?

What could go wrong?

The Israeli Left will keep on making excuses for Palestinian extremism and rejectionism.

Which is why we won't see peace happen in our lifetime.

If reports are borne out, then President Obama is sticking to the PLO narrative too, by defining all of East jerusalem as a "settlement" that is presumptively Palestinian. And yet Bibi sleepwalks, dreaming of F35's he probably could have paid for anyways, or with President Obama at the helm will only get by shrinking Israel to the size of a kibbutz. This is what giving the Waqf autonomy has led to.

All of Islam is a falsification of history. What else is new?

Sparky mentions the "Wakf". From what I have read, this body denotes areas such as mosques as part of the islamic ummah, in other words part of the unalterable muslim lands - eternal muslim property.

This is what they do in UK, just buying huge tracts of land that go with the mosque, then all the houses around it. Since no non-muslims want to live in a muslim area it becomes muslim-only, and so it creeps, yard by yard, road by road, mosque by mosque.

When I lived in east London, along my stretch of road which was about 2 miles long, there were 9 mosques. That was 4 years ago.
