An alternative 'peace process'?

With the 'Washington process' all but dead, Egypt is trying to arrange an 'alternative peace process.'
Egypt is making efforts to set up an international committee to "maintain the peace process," a high-level Egyptian source said to London-based newspaper Al-Hayat.

According to the report, Egypt is trying to "preserve Palestinian rights" by emphasizing international resolutions which form the basis of authority of the process. The same Egyptian source said contacts were being made in coordination with Jordan. "We must find a way out and a suitable alternative to the peace process, especially in the light of the extreme rightwing government in Israel," the source said.
I wonder if they plan on inviting Israel to join. On the other hand, it wasn't the Egyptians or the Jordanians who were stupid enough to insist on a 'full settlement freeze.'

Hmmm.

Its going nowhere. After Tuesday both Israel and the Palestinians have to keep the pretense to save Obama's face.

And he will be pre-occupied with dealing with the election fallout for awhile.

Nothing is going to happen for a long time.
