IDF publishes charts and graphs on rocket fire
If you want to know why the IDF undertook Operation Cast Lead, have a look at this graph, which shows the number and type of rockets (the media have taken the 'Palestinian' custom of referring to them as 'projectiles') launched at Israel from Gaza each year since 2002.
Operation Cast Lead ran from late December 2008 until January 19, 2009.

Dudes! Finally! Good start! Yay!
Next: engineering level list of expenses and effort (including $$ spent on it) to build shelters, safe rooms, procedures, drills, etc. etc. to keep the rockets from killing people in the streets (or in their classrooms).
