State Department agrees: Israel is a Jewish state
In his daily press briefing on Tuesday, US State Department spokesman Phillip J. Crowley announced that the United States backs Israel's demand that the 'Palestinians' recognize Israel as a Jewish state (Hat Tip: Gershon D).US State Department Spokesman Philip J. Crowley reemphasized US commitment to the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state and the Obama administration's backing of the issue as a core demand in negotiations. If you're wondering about a quid pro quo for that statement, I don't think there is one. I think Obama is desperate for votes on November 2, and was willing to have Crowley say this to get them. Obama's not demanding that the 'Palestinians' yield on the issue in return for a 'settlement freeze' extension, but then neither is Netanyahu - Netanyahu only suggested on Monday that recognition of Israel as a Jewish state is something in return for which he'd take the issue of a 'freeze' extension to his cabinet. And ultimately, even Obama realizes that Israel is not going to make any final settlement agreement that doesn't recognize that Israel is a Jewish state, because that would be allowing ourselves to be flooded by 'Palestinian refugees.' So I don't see any quid pro quo from Israel to Obama coming up here - only a recognition of reality by Obama, and a bid for votes from Israel's supporters.
"We recognize the special nature of the Israeli state. It is a state for the Jewish people," he said.

Get it in writing, certified, signed by Obama and SOS Clinton... put the document on scribd.com etc.
It shouldn't matter if they agree or not. Do they care if we think America should institute "ask don't tell" or that the US should have a conservative or liberal government? They don't really care and the State of Israel shouldn't get worked up because America supports our right to do anything. It's all sheker...
Don't look for the peace talks to resume any time soon.
There's no meeting of the minds.
Moriah, it shouldn't matter if they agree except when they waffle it causes heartburn for Israel.
If Abbas cannot utter those five simple words, then there is no point in trying to revive the 'peace process'. Perhaps that's Netanyahu's point. I doubt Obama will get it, though.
Hi Carl.
Did they point out where the state of Israelwill be located in the end?I mean shown actually on a map?Cause with Obama there's bound to be a catch!
The (not so) funny thing is that America and the UN already recognized Israel as a Jewish state in 1948.
60 years later Israel ought to act like it and stop begging for acceptance. We got it already!
Not so fast. The Jpost dissected his answer. You need to read his entire answer as given. This administration does NOT support Israel as a Jewish state. And this proves it. ------- http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/richman/372191#more-372191
P.S. to my above post. Carl I hope you reblog this post, so all the people that saw it, know what the truth really is.
