Michael Oren helps out with Rahm's Jewish problem

With Rahm Emanuel in trouble already with Jewish voters in Chicago - due to his being seen as the person responsible for President Obama's hostile treatment of Israel - none other than Israeli ambassador to the US Michael Oren is coming to the rescue. Here's a letter that Oren wrote on Emanuel's behalf:

Rahm_Emanuel_Israel_Ambassador_Letter -

Here's what Emanuel's campaign has to say about the letter (Hat Tip: Ben Smith).
“Rahm is reaching out to all communities in Chicago, including the Jewish community, to discuss the challenges facing our city: the safety on our streets, strength of our schools, and the need for good-paying jobs. He is working to earn every vote, in every community. Rahm received strong support from the Jewish community in his Congressional District, which helped him win reelection to Congress in 2008 with 74 percent of the vote.”
Someone please tell me that the Jews of Chicago are going to be savvy enough not to be sucked in.

I haven't heard anything yet about the Jewish Press endorsing Emanuel, but then I don't think they know anything other than Joisey exists West of the Hudson River.
