Kirk: Iran sanctions legislation was my idea

The Iran sanctions legislation that passed the House under the sponsorship of Howard Berman (D-Cal) was originally the idea of Mark Kirk (R-Il and currently a candidate for the Senate) according to Kirk and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fl).

Berman, on the other hand, denies it was Kirk's idea, saying no one paid attention to Kirk when he introduced it.

Let's go to the videotape.

Ironically, this video is on Kirk's opponent's YouTube account. Hmmm.

So whom to believe? Let me ask you this: Who would be more likely to introduce a bill like the Iran sanctions bill that President Obama didn't want? A Democrat or a Republican?

UPDATE 3:03 PM

Lots more on this story here.

He probably has e-mail, c-span video, etc. to back what he's saying...
Rep. Berman, just because no (D)s paid any attention to Kirk when he introduced it, does not mean it wasn't Kirk's idea.
Think of how many times this happens at work, for example, when someone not on the management committee comes up with a really good idea, everyone greets it with silence, then not long after, someone in the in crowd brings it up as their idea and gets huge kudos... ugh.
