It's not American bias, it's Israeli weakness

Likud MK Danny Danon's heart is in the right place, but he's dead wrong on this.
In an act of defiance against international condemnation of the Housing Ministry’s decision to publish tenders for 238 apartments in the capital’s Pisgat Ze’ev and Ramot neighborhoods, Likud MK Danny Danon on Monday morning gathered a container of earth from a construction site in Pisgat Ze’ev to send to US President Barack Obama.

He included a note with the verse from Psalms beginning, “If I forget thee, O Jerusalem...”

“It’s clear, even to the leftists, that these areas will stay Jewish. Everyone is in agreement, and we’re still not building in them. It shows how much the government in Washington is biased against Israel,” Danon said.

He noted that a “de facto freeze” has halted all new building plans and stopped building projects with partial approvals from going forward.
No, Danny. The problem isn't bias in Washington. It's weakness in Jerusalem. Netanyahu continues to cowtow to Obama. It seems that the weaker Obama gets domestically, the more Netanyahu defers to him.

Those 238 apartment approvals should have included hundreds more units. And they should have included a note to Washington: "This is our country and our capital city, and we will build wherever we deem fit."

For some reason Netanyahu seems to be afraid of Obama.

What secret has Obama found to blackmail Israel's Prime Minister into compliance? I'd be very interested in finding out.

And if the Jews are not going to stand up for themselves on Jerusalem, they shouldn't expect any one else either to stand up with them.

NormanF, I've been wondering what Obama is holding over Netanyahu, too. I suspect it's Iran.
