Day by day shows us that his supposed anachronism, the nation-state, is the wave of the future and the only way to go if you (on both individual and collective levels) wish to live the life of the free. (Look at multiculturalist Europe to see what happens when the state is no longer the nation's castle.)
Apropos of "Day By Day": Chris Muir's cartoon of that name once had a skit where the lefty character started spouting Marxist slogans, and the right-wing character started saying, "Stop it, you sound so, so...", and the lefty tried to complete: "...revolutionary? Progressive?" The right-winger contradicted her: "No, like somebody over fifty." That's what multiculturalism and anti-nationalism sound like to me: trite, worn-out cliches from a bygone era, well past their sell-by date.
@What is "Occupation" His writings are already dispersed. Unfortunately. We can use the current eruption of Herbert Marcuse's New Left condescending marxism as an example. Marcuse (I actually met him several times while I was in college) has been dead for 30 years and his methods have been burrowing into the foundations for 30 years. It will require constant education (as Carl is doing on Israel Matzav) to make sure we don't elect the Judt followers in 30 years as we've elected the Marcuse followers now (in any of the Western countries).
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. You can contact me at: IsraelMatzav at gmail dot com

I would be wrong as a Jew to celebrate this Jew's death.
However I can tell you that the knowledge that he has passed has not made me sad....
contrary to that i feel relief.

Anachronisms, in short.
Carl- he'll find a nice reception awaiting him in hell.
No Jew should mourn someone who wanted to see Israel destroyed and the Jewish people annihilated.
Good riddance!
