Hezbullah using mentally handicapped kids as human shields

This should surprise no one:
In an interview with The Associated Press on Mount Adir, a hill overlooking the border, an officer from the military's Northern Command pointed through the summer haze at the village of Aita al-Shaab.

One of its southernmost buildings, a white structure housing mentally handicapped children, is a Hezbollah lookout post, the officer said. Several guerrilla command posts are in civilian buildings in the center of Aita al-Shaab, she said, with several dozen fighters able to move among houses through underground tunnels.
CAMERA points out that Hezbullah has done this before.
The article points out that UNIFIL denies seeing proof of "new military infrastructure" in the area, but that wording hardly amounts to a denial that Hezbollah is using old civilian infrastructure for military purposes, as it has done before.
Indeed it has. I trust you all remember what happened at Qana in southern Lebanon in 2006. On Sunday, July 30, 2006, the IDF attacked a civilian building that was being used by Hezbullah as a munitions depot. The building has a school and residence built directly over it. Hezbullah claimed dozens of civilians were killed in the attack. Israel agreed to stop bombing runs for 48 hours (sound familiar?). Eventually the 'massacre' was proven to be a hoax to which bodies were brought from other locations. Eventually, the entire 'rescue operation' was proven to be staged and directed by someone who became known in the media as 'Green Helmet Guy' (pictured). There was also evidence that Hezbullah placed handicapped children on the roof of the building in anticipation of an IDF response, hoping to increase the number of 'quality' casualties.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Which brings me to this point: The Israeli govt should start planning to counteract all the faked (and even real) pictures of civilians killed by Israel during the next war. It should warn the UN (so the warning is public, not that the UN will take any action) about ammo dumps under houses, schools, hospitals and notify everyone that nothing is off limits (citing relevant international laws).

One thing that truly disgusted me was seeing images of "Green helmet guy" moving from one place to another, while holding the same dead kid like a some sort of Sefer Torah to the world's media.

I'd also guess that for Hezbullah, there is another practical value for using handicapped kids as human shields and that is practising a form of "islamic darwinism".

For the next war in Lebanon, incited by Hezbullah, Israel should simply lay waste to the southern portion of the country.

If civilians are dumb enough to allow terrorists to take over their homes, and their countries, then they have to be at least a little complicit in the terrorists aims.

Hezbullah is Lebanon's enemy. Not Israel. But Hezbullah has infused its leadership into Lebanon's leadership. So is Lebanon now Hezbullah? Is Hezbullah now Lebanon?

Yes, and yes.

Lebanese civilians ought to git while the gittin is good. The argument for mercy and sparing them disappeared when Hezbullah became part of the Lebanese government.
