Sestak fights back

Pennsylvania Representative Joe Sestak is fighting back against charges made by the Emergency Committee for Israel. Here he is on Morning Joe on Tuesday morning.

Let's go to the videotape.

If he supports the blockade, why did he sign the letter?

His excuse for speaking at the CAIR fundraiser is flimsy to put it mildly. Are you persuaded? I'm not.

Sestak also sent a letter to the United Nations 'Human Rights Council.'
"I supported the Israeli government's decision to quickly appoint an independent commission, with foreign observers, to review the circumstances that surrounded this tragic event. If the UN is to probe this incident as well, it is essential that the investigation is conducted in an objective manner.

"Unfortunately, the language of the resolution authorizing the UN investigation was needlessly harsh and one-sided. A biased investigation would not only fail to bring closure to this tragic incident, but it might also impede the latest round of peace talks toward a sustainable two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."
Just one problem: Even Obama is trying to forestall a UN investigation.

Jennifer Rubin adds:
He is either hopelessly naive or constrained by his J Street patrons, who — of course — wouldn’t stand for a full-throated repudiation of the UN Human Rights Council or an emphatic defense of Israel’s right to oversee its own national security.

What is shocking is that this comes after Sestak has been bashed for being unsupportive of Israel. So if this is the best he can do when he’s playing defense, can you imagine what he’ll do if he is elected?
It sounds nightmarish.
