Why you may not want to take Route 443
You may recall that under court order from Israel's Supreme Court, the government opened Route 443 - the back road from Jerusalem to Ben Gurion Airport and Tel Aviv via Modiin - to 'Palestinian' traffic at the end of May. The government assures us that the road is safe, but I have stayed off it since then and have urged my wife to stay off it as well.On Monday, we got our best indicator yet as to how safe the government really believes Route 443 is. Prime Minister Netanyahu let slip to the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that the Shin Bet (General Security Service) will not allow him to use Route 443. And the Shin Bet confirmed it.
Despite a number of rock attacks during May, prior to its reopening to Palestinian Authority drivers, the IDF and government in May fulfilled a High Court order to allow PA traffic to use Road 443, one of the two east-west highways connecting Jerusalem to metropolitan Tel Aviv. The opening went ahead, despite appeals against the road's opening by MKs, security officials and drivers, who fear an increase in terror attacks on the road. The country is in good hands. What could go wrong?
The Shin Bet has decided that at least one Israeli citizen – Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu – cannot risk using the road.

would it not make a great news story that a palestinian, while trying to murder an Israeli was shot and killed?
Its just for the Little Jews. No one in Israel thinks much of a government that makes one law for itself and another law for every one else to follow. The Israeli Supreme Court is held by people in universal contempt. And people are still free not to drive a dangerous route the Israeli bigshots have no intention of driving themselves.
How about some Jews dressed as arabs go down to the road and hide out in some bushes, sniping at arabs as they motor down their "judenrein" freeway!
