Video: Marco Rubio speaks about Israel - Part 2

On Sunday, I posted Part 1 of a video of Marco Rubio speaking to the Republican Jewish Coalition. Here's Part 2 of that video.

Let's go to the videotape.

Notice what he says about Jerusalem. I have a couple of people who comment often on the US position on the status of Jerusalem. Let's get it straight.

Congress passed a law during the Clinton administration calling for the US to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and to move its embassy here. The embassy move is subject to a Presidential waiver every six months. Unfortunately, Clinton, Bush and Obama have all waived that move every six months (Obama did it again last week - Hat Tip: Lance K).

The US by law recognizes Jerusalem as Israel's capital. But the State Department does not, and refuses to register Jewish children born anywhere in Jerusalem (even in 'west' Jerusalem) as being born in Israel despite a 2002 law that required it to do so. The US courts have held that the State Department cannot be compelled to register births or deaths in Jerusalem, Israel.
