The re-education of Barack Obama

Martin Kramer believes that he sees sign that President Obama is being re-educated to move away from the Rashid Khalidi school of the Middle East.
As the two pillars of the Khalidi Doctrine crumble under the weight of reality, champions of an alternative approach are finally getting some traction. They insist that U.S. diplomacy toward Iran is doomed, absent the threat to use force if talks fail. And they argue that tinkering with the Israeli-Palestinian “peace process” is a dangerous distraction from the main event: Iran.

How do we know whether these ideas are making inroads? First, there was the “dual loyalty” smearing of Dennis Ross by an anonymous administration official, which looked like a desperate lunge to head off just this kind of rethinking. Second, the president of the weather vane called the Council on Foreign Relations suddenly reversed direction: chasing an Israeli-Palestinian deal, he announced, is “a distraction that would benefit neither the U.S. nor Israel, given an Iranian threat that is close at hand and a promise of peace that is distant.” To judge from these gyrations, the re-education of Barack Obama has begun.

What can American Jews do to accelerate it? They must keep their and Obama’s eyes squarely on the ball. When Obama visited the town of Sderot during his campaign, he declared that “a nuclear Iran would be a game-changing situation not just in the Middle East but around the world. Whatever remains of our nuclear non-proliferation framework, I think, would begin to disintegrate.” That is the Obama for whom most Jewish Democrats cast their votes: a president who would secure the greater peace. Call it the Sderot Pledge: American Jews must unite around it and hold Obama to it.
I'm not optimistic. Obama still has too many people around him who think like Khalidi.

Difficult re-educating a narcissist. However, in this case the narcissist is not stupid enough to figure the policies he makes can make or break him. Make no mistake a narcissist while never wrong in their own eyes, becomes easily crushed internally by discord.

Even a king sits uneasy upon his throne. Even the kings minions can become discontented. Last week one of Obama's biggest Jewish donors urged him to back off.

Obama's real uphill battle is himself.

"World condemns Israel, yet largely silent on N. Korean

The central core of why the world condemns Israel while turning a blind eye to those who terrorize the world, is innate Antisemitism.

To quote Dershowitz:
"Why the obsession?"

Why a Palestinian state following the bloodiest of all intifadas? Why throw billions of dollars to terrorists post 9-11? Why make a pitch in a state of the union speaking of the consequences of those who harbor terror when for terrorizing Israel the Palestinians got a U.S President 100 percent in back of them with a quartet making damn sure Israel would pay. Why heads of state including U.S Presidents call Israel, occupiers? Why did those U.S Presidents deny Israel, Jerusalem? Why? Why call a denier of the Holocaust a "man of peace?"

Why do the Kurds go begging?

Why the obsession?

We turned our eyes off the prize thinking we had a friend in office who would cover our backs and look where that got us. Now we have an in your face, Jew hating, megalomaniac narcissist.

Could things get worse?
The coming days will prove whose blood always amounted to more then the blood of a Jew.

Carl - did you live blog Netanyahu's address to the country? What's incredible is the wave of patriotism sweeping Israel. There's been nothing like it in a long time. Pro IDF rallies all over.
