Jon Voight writes to Obama
Actor
Jon Voight sent a brief open letter to President Obama. Most of it deals with
Israel (Hat Tip:
Memeorandum).
President Obama:
You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel, the only Democratic state in the Middle East, against all their enemies. You have done just the opposite. You have propagandized Israel, until they look like they are everyone's enemy — and it has resonated throughout the world. You are putting Israel in harm's way, and you have promoted anti-Semitism throughout the world.
You have brought this to a people who have given the world the Ten Commandments and most laws we live by today. The Jewish people have given the world our greatest scientists and philosophers, and the cures for many diseases, and now you play a very dangerous game so you can look like a true martyr to what you see and say are the underdogs. But the underdogs you defend are murderers and criminals who want Israel eradicated.
I'd say that's a fair description.

Whoa!
It's a rhetorical question but - How does he do this?
It's rhetorical because I have heard Jon Voight interviewed and have read other eminently sensible and straight forward writings by him.
However, it still boggles my mind that Mr. Voight is so consistently "normal" and admirable while still maintaining his persona of "Hollywood peculiarity."
Very nice.
Mr. Voight is expressing what heads of state past and present never expressed.
Of course Israel is an "occupier who causes daily humiliation to the Poor Palestinian people" so it is understandable why such words were never expressed.
...and while past and present U.S presidents forged lies that now stick like the toughest glue ever, truth and reality now mean squat.
I mean, when a holocaust denier is welcomed into the White House by a best friend who proclaims Abbas to be a "man of peace," one can only wonder. When he stands in the rose garden with that man of peace and proclaims Israel causes daily humiliation to the Palestinians, didn't anyone figure we were screwed?
Our beloved capital Jerusalem is disputed territory which is why the embassy act never got signed by someone who promised that on his first week in office he would sign it.
So an IP in Dubai leaves Israel off the map. Big deal. Israel does not even have a capital!! Thanks to best friends and foes a like.
Oh boy, Obama is shaking in his boots by the letter from Jon Voight. (a letter Voight a good Republican should have sent to Bush!!)
I wonder how he REALLY feels!!!!
