Gandhi would choose violence over cowardice?

The title of this post was not the way I learned Gandhi during my junior year in college.

But let's go to the videotape.

I am sure Gandhi would have leapt at the chance to disembowel an Israeli, he was a notorious anti-Semite! As is this apology for a person, Ken O'Keefe, who hates violence so much he is forced to associate with terrorists!

believe it or not, that is exactly what gandhi said

it has been widely quoted and was most recently used in the a team movie

gandhi was full of crap, and was lucky it was the brits and not the japanese who had occupied india

for were it the japanese, he would not have simply been imprisoned...he and his followers would have been slaughtered long before he ever became known to the world

here is the quote being referred to

I do believe that, where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence....I would rather have India resort to arms in order to defend her honour than that she should, in a cowardly manner, become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonour.

here is what he thought the jews in germany should do

here is how the wise man answered his critics regarding the above asinine statement

Friends have sent me two newspaper cuttings criticizing my appeal to the Jews. What I have pleaded for is renunciation of violence of the heart and consequent active exercise of the force generated by the great renunciation.

Gandhi is despised in India by all right-wing Hindus. His policies were terrible for Hindus. He made it very easy for Islam to flourish and gave it no criticism -- As people have mentioned he was a notorious anti-Semite, and called Hitler personally his friend. He also beat his wife [admitted in his autobiography] and supported many wars, including participating in the Boer war, and recruiting Hindus for other wars. He was no one special in many ways, and a total tyrant in others. May his name and memory be erased.

Everybody in India, blames other Indian.
Has any Indian done anything, has he the ability to resist corruption, has he taken any blows and held his ground, for the right for what he fairly believes in.
If no then he only has himself to blame.
Man is the only living thing who has the choice to behave like animal, go backwards or a saint, go forwards.
