Zionists don't settle?

Israel's Meretz party - which drew approximately 2.5% of the vote in the last election - has a new campaign slogan. It's 'Zionists' don't settle.'
The Meretz party and other leftist organizations have scheduled a demonstation for a week from now in Jerusalem's Zion Square to unveil a new slogan: Zionist's Don't Settle (using the perjorative "squat"). Organizers are asking those in attendance to come with placards containing the slogan in one hand and Israeli flags in the other.

The slogan is intended to fight the anti-Zionist image the organizations have received recently. While the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria can expect to be described as "an enterprise that will bring Israel to the end of Zionism," one can also expect those speaking at the rally to call for an end to the "destructive occupation" and other old familiar slogans from the left's past.
I have to tell you that I looked for a poster with the slogan on Google images, and just plugging in 'Zionists don't settle' brought up an appalling array of anti-Semitic images. So I gave up.

But historically this is wildly incorrect. The States' founders all called themselves 'settlers.' But the term 'settler' implies a newcomer who is here temporarily. That's why some of us have been trying to promote referring to 'settlers' as revenants.

If Israel's leftists believed in Zionism, they would try to settle Yesha with the same determination as the national religious Zionists have. One can attribute part of their misguided opposition to settling the Land Of Israel as plain jealousy. And since the Left hasn't contributed anything of note to Zionism in the last generation, its no wonder that they want to uproot the one enterprise that is protecting Israel from returning to the 1949 lines. Jews must rescue "settler" from being a dirty word.

It is the very essence of Zionism and the way Israel itself came into existence.

These vile "jewicidals" of Meretz are "settlers": they should not be living in Israel, they are islam's fifth column". They are the squatters on the face of islam! 2.5%? surely Zionists can overwhelm this filth in Israel?

The problem with the word "revenant" is that most of the world hasn't heard of it in its first dictionary context. They know of it, rather, from this context: Revenant on Wikipedia. That's the defintion popularized in a number of video games and in American pop culture, at the very least.

as for usage, if 50 Jewish bloggers used it regularly, say twice a week (after all, "settlers" appears daily in the press and anti-Israel blogs), and sent it off to fellow bloggers, it would be promoted.
