Peres: Israel has proof of Syrian scud transfer

With all the claims that Syria didn't really transfer scud missiles to Hezbullah, and that this is all just a warning, Israeli President Shimon Peres is sticking to his story.
Israeli President Shimon Peres said Sunday during a meeting with Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lene Espersen that Israel had clear-cut proof that Syria had transferred Scud missiles to Hezbollah

“Israel has clear proof that long-range, accurate Scud missiles have been transferred from Syria to Hezbollah, and there is no doubt about it,” Israeli media quoted Peres as telling his guest.
I'm wondering why Israel hasn't taken steps to neutralize the missiles. Or perhaps, since the IAF knows where they are, those steps will be forthcoming.

Heh.

UPDATE 8:59 AM

Here's more on Peres' statement.
Peres, who has previously accused Syria of speaking with a forked tongue when it claims to being interested in peace with Israel, said that Israel is closely following the transfer from North Korea to Iran of nuclear armaments and Scud missiles which are then forwarded from Iran to Syria and Lebanon. Syria can no longer conceal its support for terrorism, said Peres, who characterized North Korea as “a kind of duty-free store” for nuclear armaments and long-range missiles which contribute to world terror.

He expressed regret that North Korea has become a direct supplier to Iran, noting that the consequences of such action could lead to further killings of innocent people.

Peres made it clear that Israel knows without a shadow of a doubt that Syria is the conduit for dangerous weaponry.
Gee, didn't someone once refer to Syria, Iran and North Korea as the 'axis of evil'?

Just sayin'....

I'm waiting for Obambi to ban the use of the word "evil" in US government communiques.

From now on it will be a battle against the "forces of meanness".

Where have we heard that before?

Shy Guy, we'll never hear the Obami admit the Syrians are up to no good.

Don't hold your breath waiting for it to happen.
