How to move the 'peace process' call the 'Palestinians' bluff

Mort Zuckerman presents this as a way to move the Mideast 'peace process' along, but it's obvious to me, as I'm sure it is to you, that the 'Palestinians' won't do it and if Obama ever demanded that they do so, the 'Palestinian' bluff would be called.
If the Obama administration wants to leave any kind of decent mark in history for its handling of the Middle East—pretty poor so far—it should do something right now that would clear the air and save Mitchell the four months he's allocated. It's simple. Just invite the Palestinians to do what the Israelis have done for decades, which is to declare in the language of their own people that both sides have genuine claims to this land, that both sides have the right to live in peace, and that a viable compromise is possible. If the Palestinians were to publicly begin the process of reversing Yasser Arafat's relentless delegitimization of the Israeli connection with this land, emblemized by his dismissal of the notion of a Jewish temple in Jerusalem, they would achieve the simultaneous feat of preparing their people for compromise and persuading Israel of its viability. The Palestinian leadership has all along made an honorable peace impossible by falsely stating that the Jews have no legitimate claims to any of the land.
Fat chance that will happen.

Read it all.

Its not going to happen. And don't hold your breath waiting for Obumbler to make such a demand of the Palestinians. The "peace process" is not going anywhere any time soon.

the comments to that article range from incredible to disgusting.

I think I saw every conceivable anti-semitic expression within them.

Jews control the media, are baby killers, control the government, etc. The dual loyalty canard was out, along with many of the others.

As depressing as this is, it also increases my personal resolve to never give in against these 'people'. All it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to sit with their hands folded on their lap.

I suspect that a fair number of the commenters would have no problems with the gas chambers and ovens of the concentration camps being fired up. Yeah, they were that bad.
