Evidence of Syrian arms transfers to Hezbullah
The Times of London has seen satellite images of Syrian
arms depots that supply Hezbullah terrorists with missiles. (Warning: To access that link you may have to go through the most invasive registration process I have ever seen).
The Times has been shown satellite images of one of the sites, a compound near the town of Adra, northeast of Damascus, where militants have their own living quarters, an arms storage site and a fleet of lorries reportedly used to ferry weapons into Lebanon.
The military hardware is either of Syrian origin or sent from Iran by sea, via Mediterranean ports, or by air, via Damascus airport. The arms are stored at the Hezbollah depot and then trucked into Lebanon.
“Hezbollah is allowed to operate this site freely,” said a security source. “They often move the arms in bad weather when Israeli satellites are unable to track them.”
Most of the weapons are sent from depots like the one near Adra and then stored at Hezbollah bases in the Bekaa Valley or southern Lebanon.
Read the whole thing. In the next war, Israel will have to fight Syria. It was a mistake not to do it the last time when
we had the opportunity.

And the Stupid Jews in Israel say Syria is ready for peace with Israel.
The pictures contradict that smug assertion. But who is looking at them?
What could go wrong indeed
I'm one of those American neo-cons and, of course, was rooting for Israel in that war. IMO, yeah, Olmert & Co. really blew it. I mean REALLY blew it!
Israel had a golden opportunity if not to destroy, then to really damage Hezbollah AND Syria. The Syrian Air Force and Navy could have been destroyed in a short, intense but strictly air and maybe special forces campaign. I also suspect that Bush & Co. were prepared for the US Armed Forces to jump in and attack Iranian forces.
The US could then have destroyed most if not all of the Iranian nuclear weapons facilities and put paid to the Iranian Air Force and Navy. While that was going on, Israel would have been taking care of business with Hezbollah and Syria.
As I see it, while this was happening, most of the Arab governments would make only pro forma anti-Israel statements while silently cheering Israel on.
Between Israeli and US military action, it COULD have been the catalyst for a whole new ballgame in the Middle East, leaving Israel and the whole Middle East far safer.
I remember Netanyahu was in the US during the war and spoke on the phone on conservative and firm friend of Israel Rush Limbaugh's radio program. I forget Limbaugh's exact words, but he asked Netanyahu what the heck was the Israeli Govt doing and why Israel wasn't taking care of business, fighting the war properly.
A concerned Netanyahu replied frankly that he just didn't know. It was clear without Netanyahu saying so in as many words, that had Netanyahu been PM, with a Likud cabinet, the war would be fought very differently.
But he wasn't. Olmert & Co. provided yet another historical proof that Western neo-liberals, with their inherently irrational, squeamish and chaotic philosophy, simply can't be trusted to wage an effective war on their respective countries' enemies.
