My friends in NY tell me it wasn't a great success. Lack of planning in the beginning kept many from attending. And it quickly became a venue to parade how great Pamela Geller is, not to support Israel.
It was badly planned, and in their opinion a waste of time and energy.
I was there. I thought that the crowd was quite impressive for a rainy day in NYC. There was a great diversity of speakers and in no way was Pamela Geller the focus of the event. For the first large scale NYC rally for Israel, this was a great step. Could it have been better? Sure...and the next one will likely be even better!
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. pamela geller????? you have gotta be kidding me
first off to start with the sentence "for the first time in american history, we have an anti israel president" is absurd on its face
the only truly pro israel president was bush 2, and even he wouldve sold israel down the river for a barrel of oil
the rally shouldve been to support israel...not bash obama
so i turned off the vid right then and there....
and there werent thousands there
It could have been better planned. More's the pity.
