Video: US policy on Jerusalem and Israeli - 'Palestinian' negotiations

In this video taken at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs last Thursday, former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Dore Gold discusses U.S. policy on building in Jerusalem, including Ramat Shlomo. He explains that past negotiations with Palestinians were unaffected by Israeli construction in Jerusalem.

Let's go to the videotape.

All it would have taken was a signature on the embassy bill to have placed us in a more secure stance.

Sadly those who claimed friendship who had the ability to place pen to paper knew exactly why they couldn't do it even at risk of being accused of going back on a promise.

We came to this awful place in history because we trusted too much. Now we have a openly hostile US president who I feel deep within him is an antisemite. This at the heart of it all is why he has gone off the deep end with Israel.

Nomatter, Carl and I share your feelings about it. We're dealing with someone who has no sympathy for the Jews and Israel. And its something that one has to put with for the future.

Israel survived Pharaoh. It will survive Obama as well.

Thank you for your comment.

Indeed we fought Pharoh and we did it with the wisdom G-d gave us and with our own strength.

Our friends were ourselves. Perhaps we need to go back to that same rather basic belief that only we can help ourselves.

We are certain who our enemies are, both soft and hard ones. Bottom line, for the most part our friends are not going to put their political necks on the line for us. We need to see this once and for all and like every other country across the world, act on our own best interests.
