Pollard enraged by 'terrorists for Gilad' deal

Jonathan Pollard, who has spent 25 years in American prisons for spying for Israel, is said to be enraged by the unfolding 'terrorists for Gilad' deal that is in the process of happening here in Israel. This is from an email that I received today from the Likud's Manhigut Yehudit (Jewish leadership) faction:
Manhigut Yehudit leaders Moshe Feiglin and Shmuel Sackett visited the heroic Jew Jonathan Pollard today at his prison in Butner, North Carolina.

Jonathan Pollard is a Jew who saved the Israelis from American treachery and from Saddam Hussein's gas during the first Gulf War. (He also saved American soldiers from Saddam's gas!) He did not save us because we are Israelis. He saved us - and sacrificed his freedom for almost a quarter-century so far - because we are his Jewish brothers. The Pollard case imposes a Jewish identity upon Israel and upon Jews worldwide. We all must decide if our Jewish identity comes first, or if it is buried somewhere down below. Israel's current leadership prefers to keep its Jewish identity safely stored under lock and key, in a jail cell in Butner, North Carolina.

Below are two articles that ran recently in the Jerusalem Post. The first article is about our visit today with Jonathan. The second article was written by Jonathan and his wonderful wife Esther last week. The key point to understand is the heroism of this man. He has given so much of himself for so long for all of us, and yet he implores the government of Israel not to ask for his release if it means the releasing of even one enemy terrorist, as he knows that most of these released terrorists at least attempt to kill Jews again. He can not bear the thought of having the blood of any of his brothers on his hands, however indirectly.

Even from the confines of his dank prison cell in North Carolina, Jonathan Pollard is leading us all.

G-d willing, he will be released shortly. In his merit may we all perfect the world in the Kingdom of the Almighty.

I have linked both articles above and suggest that you read both of them.

Its telling Israel's government is more concerned with securing the release of murderers of Jews from its prisons than it is with bringing Jonathan Pollard home to Israel as a free man.

What could go wrong indeed
