Goldstone hammers at US and Israel

In an interview with al-Jazeera, Richard Goldstone hammered away at the United States and Israel over his report on Operation Cast Lead.

Let's go to the videotape.

Goldstone continues to pretend that no one has made any substantive criticisms of his report. I have seen dozens - maybe even hundreds. He accuses the United States of not providing 'specifics' about the report's flaws. A 575-page report in which more than 500 pages is devoted solely to castigating Israel by definition has no balance.

Goldstone also opposes Prime Minister Netanyahu's proposal to update the Geneva Convention to make it more responsive to countries fighting terror groups. That ought to give pause to Western countries like the US and Britain which have to fight terror groups in asymmetric conflicts.

On Wednesday, I was on a conference call on which UN Watch's Hillel Neuer said that he believes that ultimately Israel will 'have to' set up a commission under former Supreme Court Chief Justice Aharon Barak to 'investigate' Operation Cast Lead. But such an investigation is a slippery slope. The blindly ambitious Richard-Richard Goldstone's cohorts don't just want an investigation. They want blood. Israeli soldiers' blood - and ultimately Israeli civilians' blood.

Goldstone is pure evil. His intent is evil. Incriminating the defensive response against the terrorizing of the civilians of a sovereign nation is evil. Therefore, he must be made to pay for his crimes.

Why are there no law suits against him? There should be many. Maybe one for every IDF soldier who served in Cast Lead and one for every Israeli citizen who came under attack.

I disagree with Hillel Neuer. As along as Ehud Barak is Israel's Defense Minister, such a commission is not going to happen. He knows what the UN lynch mob really wants is not an Israeli investigation but Jewish blood. And any more than with the blood libels of old, how do you prove a negative? Israel can't and in that respect its enemies have inflicted a grievous blow to its reputation. The last thing on earth Israel should do is give them satisfaction.

If you want to know the cesspool into which the UK's Guardian has sunk surrounding Israel, just check out Michael Lerner's opus. I won't waste much time on him but this comment gives the flavor of what Israel's critics really think of the Jewish State:

Unfortunately, Israel's predictable choir of ethical cretins around the world have joined in condemning Goldstone and the UN instead of urging Israel to investigate the charges by creating an impartial, objective and open process in which the victims can testify and the perpetrators can be brought to justice.

Note that Lerner attributes the lack of ethical consideration not to Goldstone but to Israel! Its vile and beneath contempt.

There's more stuff like that from the Court Jew Here

Goldstone is not the only Jew who's discovered how lucrative attacking the Jewish State can be.

There is an irony to my last post.It took a non-Jew Harold Evans, to defend Israel and denounce Goldstone in yes - the very same aforementioned UK Guardian, the day before Lerner:

Aren't the British sickened by the moral confusions of their government? First, we have the weasel words to justify the unjustifiable release of the Lockerbie bomber. Now we have the sickening spectacle of Britain failing to stand by Israel, the only democracy with an independent judiciary in the entire region.

It was to be expected that the usual suspects of the risible UN human rights council would be eager to condemn Israel for war crimes in defending itself against Hamas. If you treat people as the Chinese do the Tibetans or Uighurs ("Off with their heads!"); or as the Russians eliminate Chechen dissidents; or as the Nigerians tolerate extrajudicial killings, the evictions of 800,000, rape and cruel treatment of prisoners; or as the Egyptians get prisoners to talk (torture) and the Saudis suppress half their population … well, go through the practices of all 25 states voting to refer Israel to the security council for the Gaza war, and you have to acknowledge they know a lot about the abuse of humans. Anything to divert attention from their own atrocities.

Only six refused to join the farce – Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia, Ukraine and the US. Britain didn't just abstain. It shirked voting at all (along with those beacons of civilisation Angola, Kyrgyzstan, Madagascar, and surprisingly, France).

Of course, here the fig leaf for being scared of dictators, especially oil-rich abusers, is the report by the South African judge Richard Goldstone. Poor Judge Goldstone now regrets how his good name has been used to single out Israel. The Swiss paper Le Temps reports him complaining that "This draft [UN human rights council] resolution saddens me … there is not a single phrase condemning Hamas as we have done in the report. I hope the council can modify the text." Fat hope.

That is just part of a really wonderful column too good to reproduce in full here. Interested readers may look it up Here

Why is it non-Jews defend the Jewish State far more effectively and passionately than those who are born Jewish do? G-d's sense of humor, I imagine at work. I leave Evans with the final word which is very fitting in summarizing the essence of Goldstone and Great Britain's moral cowardice, to convey my feelings about the entire travesty:

The Goldstone report won the gold standard of moral equivalence between the killer and the victim. Now Britain wins the silver. Who's cheering?
