Netanyahu on Iran in 2007

Scott Johnson points us to a video that Jim Hoft made of a 2007 meeting between Binyamin Netanyahu and a small group of American bloggers (including Andrew Breitbart, Jeff Emanuel, and Laurence Solov) in which Scott and Jim were also participants. In the video, Netanyahu, who was then the opposition leader and head of the Likud party, discussed the possibility of a nuclear-armed Iran. In light of the past week's events, it's worth going back and watching that video again, so let's go to the videotape.

After the video, Jim commented:
Later in the discussion Benjamin Netanyahu explained how economic sanctions are an effective way of working against the regime in Iran- a regime that is determined to obtain nuclear weapons.

There is a serious crisis facing all of the West and Netanyahu is not afraid to admit that the military option may be necessary to squash the horrible threat facing the West and the region.
Had they been implemented in 2007, economic sanctions could have worked. But there's no time left for that now.

No one is serious about confronting Iran. That's the bottom line.

What could go wrong indeed
