Good news: Terrorist mercenaries making their way from Iraq to Gaza

With the United States winding down its war in Iraq, many of the terrorists who fought with American troops are heading for their next engagement: Gaza.
The flow of foreign terrorists to Gaza will gradually increase, defense officials forecast, as the friction between the extremist Sunni groups and U.S. forces in Iraq diminishes in advance of the expected American withdrawal. Israeli officials are of the opinion that Hamas is not particularly interested in having these foreigners enter the Strip since they do not act under Hamas instructions and are identified with even more extremist and uncompromising ideologies than Hamas itself.

Hamas has a relatively high level of control over the actions of established groups such as Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. But Hamas is finding it difficult to rein in the smaller and newer groups, which are identified with Al-Qaida and Worldwide Jihad, and are made up primarily of former Hamas activists.

The months of quiet since the IDF's Operation Cast Lead in Gaza this past winter have increased the number of those deserting Hamas in favor of Worldwide Jihad, as front-line Hamas military activists have increased their criticism of what they view as the impotence of the organization's leadership against Israel.
I'm thinking back to President Bush's reaction to Prime Minister Sharon's Czechoslovakia speech about a month after 9/11. It's one of the few things that President Bush got really wrong in his 'war on terror.' We are all fighting the same battle against international terror, just like we're all fighting the same battle against Iran obtaining nuclear weapons. It's just that some of us see it more clearly than others. Unfortunately, the current occupant of the White House believes that the way to deal with terrorists is to shower them with love. I'm afraid that many of us may yet pay an expensive price for his naive worldview.

Excellent news...

It's a pity that the terrorists don't understand the re-set button that the Israelis have pushed...

I will laugh my butt of when Gaza's borders to Egypt come down and 100's of thousands fleeing Gazans, complete with goats, kids, mercedes benzes & mattresses come flooding over the border...

After all that's what will happen when Gazans support the daily attack on Israel & Israel gets fed up and really bombs the crap out of it...

There is a world wide economic recession and the world could give a hoot about Palestinians...

I hope they try something, I need a good laugh

The American Left has yet to have its own 9/11.

What could go wrong indeed

The response to the Czechoslovakia speech was not an isolated incident; it was part and parcel of the Bush Administration's extraordinarily wrong-headed conviction that, aside from Arafat, Fatah was a partner for peace.
