Aren't you glad they don't have this problem in the US?

Muhammad Dahoudi, the head of 'Palestinian television' (the Fatah version) has been fired for not giving enough media coverage to suit-and-tie-clad 'Palestinian Prime Minister' Salam Fayyad, who is rumored to be a candidate to succeed 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen. Dahoudi was fired by Yasser Abed Rabbo, who is the PA official in charge of the media, and who has allied himself with Fayyad.
A senior Fatah official told the London-based daily Al-Quds Al-Arabi that the main reason behind the decision was Dahoudi's failure to provide extensive coverage of Fayad's activities.

The official said that Abed Rabbo lost his temper last week when Palestine TV failed to dispatch a crew to film Fayad during a ceremony to inaugurate a village water project.

A source in Palestine TV said that Dahoudi and news editors have long been under heavy pressure from Abed Rabbo to devote much of the news bulletins to Fayad's activities and statements.

The source said that Dahoudi, who is a top Fatah operative from the Gaza Strip, has openly challenged Abed Rabbo's decision to fire him, saying he had no plans to step down.

The funny thing is the PA establishment hates Fayyad and wants to get rid of him. Yet they complain his activities are not covered enough on their own state-run TV network.

Oh the irony! Oh the irony!
