State Department: It's 'premature' to talk about sanctions against... Israel
It's come to this. Let's go to the videotape of Tuesday's State Department briefing by Deputy Spokesman Robert Wood in Washington. The part about Israel starts around 2:15 with a question about Senator Mitchell and ends around the 7:00 mark (fully one third of the briefing).

Now I am sure that Obama will not only cut off all aid, but will personally impose sanctions on Israel.
The Jewish people have been through far worse. What would be the pretext for sanctions against Israel? It wouldn't surprise me if Obumbler did come up with one.
What could go wrong indeed
Sanctions against Israel based on...? Their failure to comply with the Road Map?
Like the Palestinians have failed to comply with the overture to the outset to the first phase of the Road Map? Like an unconditional end to violence? Like ending incitement? Like dismantling terrorist (Hamas, IJ) groups? Like confiscating illegal weapons? Like Arab states "cutting off funding and all other forms of support for groups supporting and engaging in violence and terror"?
Sanctions against Israel while the Obama administration hands $1 billion to Hamas?
I'd love to see Dershowitz and the Democrats' rationalization of that legal maneuver.
