The Israel Test
Glenn Reynolds is recommending a book called The Israel Test. Here's one of the reviews. George Guilder's research and writing skills are outstanding. I've read other Guilder tomes sometimes with difficulty. But, Israel Test is easily read. George Guilder's opinion that Israel and its Jews are special and have much to offer the United States and the world is well researched and documented. He set forth a thesis and provides the details to prove his thesis.If anyone wants to buy it for me, please feel free.
Had this been written by a Jew, one might be skeptical of the author's bias and prejudice. Within the book, Mr. Guilder provides us with his upper crust New York protestant background which should have produced anti-Jewish sentiments. He confesses to having those sentiments early in life. He was open-minded enough to study the contributions of Jews of Israel and the United States and to develop the concepts presented in this exceptional book.

The book explains anti-antisemitism, the failure of socialism and shows the hi-tech industry of Israel. Gilder, a non Jew non-Israeli, annalists of Israel is amazing it reminds me of Alexis de Tocqueville's writing about America.
