Do they think we're that stupid?

Based on a report in the Yedioth Aharonoth (the Hebrew version of YNet), Aaron Lerner reports that the 'Jewish leaders' who were present at the meeting with President Obama on Monday suggested to him that if he visited Israel, he would 'win over' the Israeli public despite his 6% approval rating here. Do they think we're that stupid?
Yediot Achronot Washington correspondent Orly Azulai reports in today's edition that during the course of President Barack Obama's Monday meeting with leaders from some American Jewish organizations it was suggested that he visit Israel since "such a visit could help greatly to cause Israeli citizens to feel that the president is committed to their security. In the middle of the meeting Obama turned to his aides and said "guys - we are going to Israel"."

.." During the course of the meeting, Alan Solow, the chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations said that there is great importance in President Obama talking directly to the Israeli People, as he did in Cairo when he spoke to the Moslem world. Also the representative of [Americans for] Peace Now, Debra DeLee, repeated the request and said that a visit to Israel would strengthen the feeling that Obama is committed to the security of Israel and its future as a Jewish and democratic state. "Everyone speaks about the Arab street," said Lee Rosenberg, President-elect, AIPAC, "but there is also an Israeli street and
you also have to speak to it."

It remains unclear if the American Jews recommending a visit meant that a photo op would win over the Israeli public or instead if they expect that such a visit would go beyond words. Paradoxically, a visit by President Obama today - if it serves as a platform for turning the screws even tighter on the Jewish State - could have the opposite result that the American Jews suggest.
I believe that a trip here in which Obama lectures us - as is his wont - would make his ratings tank even further if that is possible (I suppose that it is possible. Ehud Olmert once had a 3% rating). And since it's unlikely that Obama would come here and offer us any kind of support, it's even more unlikely that his coming here would improve his ratings. Personally, I'd go out and demonstrate against him.

For those who were wondering, here's a list of those select few who were invited to Monday's meeting at the White House.
The White House put out a list of who attended the meeting on Monday afternoon.

Alan Solow, Chairman, Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations

I ask again: Do they really think we're that stupid?

Time for American Jews to Join the Republicans. The Democratic Party is becoming the Party of Obama/Chavez/Saudi/Pali. Obama is Islamifying the US, making the economy over in the style of Chavez Cronyistic Economics, and seeking a new world order based on the bankruptcy of the US and diminished military strength. The Republicans need a speaker once a week in a show to tell the truth about what is going on and down. I can see what he intends for Israel. One day, Abbas will declare a state. The US will recognize it and land troops. Yup. That is what he is intending to do. Maybe before then, Hamas will assinate Abbas, or maybe Obama will have to produce his birth certificate and passports proving he is not an American.

The White House is frustrated by stubborn Israelis putting the kibosh on their plans. No wonder it had to bring out Javier Solana to read them the riot act.

Hopenchange, any one?

US Jewry has the same problem as Canadian Jewery: it is represented by a lot of people who are self-appointed and who generally are liberal, self-hating Jews.
In Canada, the Canadian Jewish Congress is headed by a complete moron (Bernie Farber) who is so focused on tracking down nazi ghosts that he is completely oblivious to the real threats to Jews and to Israel.
All these Jews who claim to represent US Jews and who met with Obama are now starting to clue in that B. Hussain probably constitutes the greatest threat to Jews and Isreal in general and they are tripping over themselves trying to figure out how they can justify their unconditional support for this president.
As long as US Jews continue supporting the Democrats, there is no hope of unseating BHO. It is time for militant Jews to start mounting a campaign to defend Israel against the disinformation that the White House and Congress are putting out right now. Hey, after all, we Jews own the press and Congress, no?

chanan dov - It is not time for Jews to join any American political party. It is time for Jews to realize they are Jews, and come home. Jews in positions of power abroad cause more damage than they help (Dennis Ross, Daniel Kurtzer, Rahm Emanuel, Martin Indyk, and on and on).

Second, I wouldn't trust anything Orly Azulai says. Visit twitter for a bit and you'll see she's nothing but a 'post-Zionist', self-rightous idiot who bring down the house herself if she could.

Third - they are that stupid. They think engagement is the solution to everything. Engagement is a patronizing form of appeasement - a boomerang of bad ideas.

American Jews are largely secular and iberal. In fact Bill Clinton once said that 50% of the Democrat donations came from Jews.
Unfortunately these libs are often pro-Arab, ignored the Holocaust ( but made an industry out of movies, museums and teaching of it), fight Menorahs, fight eruvs, love abortion etc...
So many American Jews fell for Hussein because of white liberal Jewish guilt. Even though he is bi-racial and was raised by his white ,SS eligible aryan mother and grandparents, and had to develop his "black" accent during his adult Chicago years, America Jews fell over and cooed to the race card.
Israelis , for al their faults, are not susceptible to the race card. They know a fake black racial huckster when they see one. Especially one who was raised a muslim til he was ten and then joined a black nazi church.
Having the TOTUS speak in Israel will only worsen things. Kapo Rahm know this and that is why kaporahm has kept him out

Israel is at the sharp end of the Jihad.

I for one am not into female circumscision, thanks. But Sharia rule gets worse than that because for every male witness in their court two females are required.

If the Jihad disbands, I think we will all feel a whole lot beter

Either they side with their people or they side with the enemy. As it looks, they are siding with the enemy. What will they do when their true G-d Obama starts shipping them to Interment Camps? Cry to other liberals for help?
