Video: The IDF elite's newest toy

The IDF's elite sayeret matkal unit is getting handheld computers with live 3D maps of the battleground. It's like walking around a battlefield with Google Earth, but it's even better because each soldier has a camera attached to him so that you can see what he is doing. And best of all, I have the video for you.

So let's go to the videotape.



It's kind of like watching a football game with all those camera angles, eh?

If you've seen a netbook,today a computer can be be truly portable. Its big enough to take the local cafe. A keyboard is nearly useless on the battlefield. I imagine a voice driven device would be more suitable to the tasks at hand.
