Dead Sea scrolls protest in Toronto
Some people don't like the fact that the Dead Sea Scrolls provide written, historical proof that Jews are the indigenous people of Israel, so they held a protest across the street from Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum on Friday, July 10, 2009. This woman was by far their loudest and most succinct representative.Let's go to the videotape.
Can you imagine being married to that redhead in the powder blue sleeveless top and pants? I just gave you nightmares, didn't I?
Heh.

The big fuss is supposedly about the fact Qumran, where the Scrolls where discovered is in the "West Bank." Its not - its entirely within pre-1967 Israel. But the moonbats are not one to allow the facts to get in the way of their relentless demonization of the Jewish State. In truth, it really doesn't matter where the Scrolls come from; its what they testify to that bothers Israel's enemies a great deal.
Heh
Not to trivialize this with a bit of trivia but whenever the Arabs engage in skulduggery (pun intended) by destroying Jewish antiquities, I'm always reminded of the scene in Planet of the Apes where Charlton Heston points to the excavated glasses, hearing aid, and doll as proof that man preceded ape and Dr. Zaius ("Chief Defender of the Faith") has the site dynamited to destroy the evidence.
well, if the scrolls were indeed found in the "west bank", isnt that proof that the area is a part of greater israel, and therefore, the palis have no right to any of the land and need to move immediatly?
Their complaint isn't about Qumran's location anymore. I guess someone finally showed them a map.
Now they claim the scrolls were in the Rockefeller Museum in east Jerusalem before the Six Day War and therefore palestinian property. (Why not Jordanian property?). They tried to get the museum to cancel the exhibit to no avail.
Ed Morgan at the National Post in Canada writes: "the Palestinians have expressly recognized Israel as custodian of all artifacts found in the West Bank and Gaza pending a final resolution of the conflict. Annex II to the 1994 Oslo Agreement, setting out the Protocols on Civil Affairs in the territories, preserves the status quo with respect to archeological finds and artifacts."
An important piece of arsenal when countering the ridiculous claim that the Jews of the 21st century have no right to publicly display documents belonging to the Jews of 2000 years ago.
What the heck was she chanting? At several points it sounded like "Rape rape rape rape" but that can't be right.
Carl, thanks for posting my video! Did you see the photos on my blog?
Laura, yes, she mostly yelled "Rape!" at us.
Josephine,
I don't think I have your blog address or it would be in the blogroll (I'm subscribed to you on YouTube, which is how I found the video).
That woman looks like quite a character....
How blissful it must be to unencumbered by reality!
Mafish falistin!
Josephine, thanks for confirming... what a loon. Also, I guess she didn't get the memo. I read back in 2007 how the fact that Israeli soldiers failed to rape Arab women *proved* they were racist! (via Jawa Report) Just can't win, eh?
Carl, That's cool! I'll email the link to you for future reference.
Laura, I had forgotten about that! Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
