Obama's view on Iran?

Remember this quote?
"I do not believe it is acceptable for any country to allow the heart of its national capital to be occupied by dissidents intent on disrupting the normal functions of government, however appealing to foreigners their propaganda may be. Such folk, whether they represent a veterans' "Bonus Army" or a "student uprising" on behalf of "the goddess of democracy" should expect to be displaced with despatch (sic) from the ground they occupy."
No, it's not Obama on Iran, but it may well explain Obama on Iran.

The quote is from the man who was President Obama's first choice to serve as Chairman of his National Intelligence Council, Chas Freeman. And he was talking about the Chinese crackdown on Tiananmen Square 20 years ago.

Spooky, isn't it?

But no, I believe the Obumbler comes by his softness all by himself.

Chas Freeman would approve of what Iran is doing to its own people. Why would any one think Obama disagrees with Freeman on how to treat the opponents of autocratic regimes? The dictatorships are the ones we must befriend, come hell or high water. So the mullahs have nothing to worry about.

Hopenchange, any one?
