How Western kids are brainwashed to believe the 'Palestinian' narrative
If you thought that it's only 'Palestinians' who are brainwashed into believing the narrative that they were forced out of what is now the modern State of Israel, you're mistaken. This is a question from a Canadian provincial practice history test for high school students:The multiple-choice question was available on the website as part of a practice test for students studying for History 12 provincial exams.Which province? It wasn't Quebec, which is what I would have guessed. Go here to find the guilty province.
It asked students to identify the following group: “They have been fighting to regain a homeland since they were driven out in 1948. Some have lived their entire lives in refugee camps. Forty years later, Israel still refuses to recognize their right to exist as a nation.”
Among the choices for the answers were: Jews, Iranians, Egyptians or Palestinians.
The offending question has been removed from the Education Ministry web site.

"they were driven out in 1948. ... Forty years later..."
Besides not knowing history in order to teach it, It seems they don't need to know any math.
More appalling to me is the ineptness of the CJC spokeswoman in raising her "concerns about the way the question was framed."
I'm sorry Ms. Ritter, but this is not just "a problematic and an oversimplication of a complex issue." It's a blatant misrepresentation of a historical fact, not a problem of nuance, and the Education Ministry should be ashamed.
Once again the CJC is completely ineffective at representing Canadian Jewry (for a complete indictment of CJC activities, see Ezra Levant's blog).
As an aside, I don't think we know enough to determine whether there was true malicious intent here. Their ridiculous math error could point to laziness / sloppiness as the main culprit. And of course, this could just be a recycled question from a 1988 test...I'd be interested to know what other errors would turn up from an audit of the test questions.
