I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Of course Israel should do it.The fewer Arabs, the more secure there is a Jewish State. Paying Arabs to emigrate has economic, social, security and demographic benefits. The initial cost of paying them to leave is more than offset by the jobs, the contributions, the manpower and the increased vitality of Israel's Jewish population brought about by giving incoming olim opportunities that would otherwise be taken up by Arabs who hate Israel. Its just common sense to implement an emigration program for them.
And its one long overdue!
Save the money. Simply revoke all those residence permits, escort any Arab non-citizens to the borders and see that they get across.
It's about time Israel stopped worrying about the 'double standard' and acted in its own self interest.
