Israel ignoring Obama?

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu may have agreed to coordinate Israel's actions on Iran with the United States, but in the meantime the IAF is going ahead with business as usual. They're planning for war.
Israel Air Force squadrons took part in a large scale drill simulating war on all fronts over the past four days, Channel 10 reported Thursday.

Fighter jets, cargo planes and missile defense systems of the corps took part in the drill where defense from a simultaneous attack against Israel from the south and the north was simulated.

Unlike previous drills, the air force did not train on long-range sorties, such as those that would be carried out during an offensive targeting Iran's nuclear facilities; the drill this past week focused on defending the country.

During the exercise, the scenario included war against Hamas in the South and war against both Hizbullah and Syria in the North.
And don't forget we have that massive civil defense exercise coming up about ten days from now.

Hmmm.

Even better, hit them before the Iranian election and immediately after the Bibi-Obama meeting. There is an expectation that Israel will wait for Obama's outreach to Iran. There is an expectation Israel will not attack prior to elections.

An attack now therefore would hit the Iranians flat-footed. Also, each article I have read mentions crossing Jordanian airspace a-la- Osirak, but is there another method. I think there is via the sea.

I think you've got it wrong, Carl. Israel is not going to await US permission to attack Iran. Just that when one comes, the US will be notified after the operation is under way that it happened. That is the full extent of coordination, nothing more.

Educate me, please. Is there a possibility that Israel would not notify Obama at all - until the strike was under way? I do not trust Obama at all not to contact Iran. I think Obama would jeopardize the entire action.
