Loving that British nuance

Hamas politburo chief Khaled Meshaal was due to address British MP's via a video hookup arranged by 'independent' MP Clare Short and Liberal Democratic peer Lord Alderdice (Hat Tip: NY Nana) on Wednesday. Israel's ambassador to England Ron Prosor accuses Short of delivering a 'slap in the face' to 'moderate' 'Palestinians' who 'seek peace.'
Ambassador Ron Prosor said: "Hamas's charter states categorically that: 'There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad'.

"One can only presume that those who invite terrorists to speak at Westminster either share this view or utterly fail to comprehend its implications.

"Clare Short and Lord Alderdice offer no attempt to persuade Hamas to change its policies of missiles and murder.

"Instead, they attempt to sanitise, legitimise and reward an organisation and ideology that remains committed to violence, bloodshed and the destruction of a sovereign state.
All of that is true, but I don't see why Prosor thinks that's a slap in the face to 'moderate' 'Palestinians' (who seek peace, of course - is there any other kind?). Whom does Prosor have in mind?

One would assume that Prosor means 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen and his Fatah terror organization. Why does Prosor believe their charter is any better than Hamas'? Here are some choice quotes from Fatah's charter:
“The Israeli existence in Palestine is a Zionist invasion with a colonial expansive base, and it is a natural ally to colonialism and international imperialism” (Article 8); calls for the “Complete liberation of Palestine, and eradication of Zionist economic, political, military and cultural existence” (Article 12), and says that “Armed struggle [i.e., terrorism] is a strategy and not a tactic” (Article 19).
So what's the difference between them?

And don't forget Article 27 of the Hamas charter:
“The Palestinian Liberation Organization [PLO = Al Fatah] is the closest to the heart of the Islamic Resistance Movement [Hamas]. It contains the father and the brother, the next of kin and the friend. The Moslem does not estrange himself from his father, brother, next of kin or friend. Our homeland is one, our situation is one, our fate is one and the enemy is a joint enemy to all of us.”
A slap in the face? I'd bet that the 'moderate' 'Palestinians' would be thrilled to see Meshaal invited to London.

I was also rather amused by the reaction of the 'Conservative party spokesman.'
A Conservative Party spokesman said: "Hamas is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK.

"There is therefore no way that Mr Mashaal, who is probably the foremost proponent of the terrorist tactics that Hamas has used against Israel for years, would be allowed to address a meeting in Parliament in person."
Well, maybe.

They're just so nuanced in Britain. I'm so glad that Israel has an ambassador who appreciates that.

UPDATE 11:58 AM

Meshaal's address didn't come off due to a 'technical glitch.'

Damned Mossad. They're everywhere, aren't they? Heh.

There are NO moderate Palestinians. By continuing to make excuses for Fatah, Israel's government continues to pursue a peace fantasy that doesn't exist. Its hypocritical denunciation of the Swiss doesn't carry weight either when it is talking to the Holocaust Denier in its midst. What's the difference between the views of Abbas er Abu Mazen and Ahmedinejad? I'd like someone to tell me.

We could do without Israeli nuance on terrorism just as we could do without the British nuance on it.

G-d made sure Meshaal wouldn't be able to give that address. That's Divine Providence at work in the world alright - even when the Jews are unworthy of it, due to their sins.

Abbas should get - but sadly won't - the Meshaal treatment!

Thanks for the hat tip, Carl

Nuanced indeed. I love those 'technical glitches'.

What hurts the most is seeing the UK letting itself be slowly taken over like this. It is not the England I knew anymore. Melanie Phillips was so right in coining the name 'Londonistan', and it seems to be heading into being a part of Eurabia, tragically..

To me 'moderate' 'Palestinians' is an oxymoron, at the very least.

Props to Mossad!
