Obama's UN ambassador: 'We look forward to direct diplomacy with Iran'

President Obama appointed Susan Rice as his ambassador to the United Nations on Monday. Here's the expected bombshell on the US negotiating directly with Iran and continuing to wave fingers at Ahmadinejad. Let's go to the videotape. More after the video.

This is from an earlier post I did in which I discussed Rice.
Susan Rice may be the least controversial of Obama's foreign policy advisers, but here are some more details about her that cannot give Israel's supporters comfort:
Susan Rice was John Kerry's chief foreign policy adviser when he ran for President. One of the major steps Kerry suggested for dealing with the Middle East was to appoint James Baker and Jimmy Carter as negotiators. When furor erupted at the prospect of two of the most ardent foes of Israel being suggested to basically ride "roughshod" over Israel, Kerry backtracked and blamed his staff for the idea. His staff was Susan Rice.
Isn't that great?
Iran was one of two rogue states with which Obama promised 'talks without preconditions.' The other was Syria. Ed Morrissey reports that Syria wants to take Obama up on his initial offer - without the backtracking on pre-conditions that came later.

Obama tried to retract the statement during the July 2007 YouTube debate on several occasions, at one point declaring that “preparations” would be required, if not “preconditions”. Assad shows no inclination to allowing Obama that out. He won’t end his support for Hamas and Hezbollah, two of the worst terrorist networks in the region and both proxies for Assad’s Iranian bosses. If Obama wants to talk with him, Obama has to accept the relationships with Hamas and Hezbollah.

Will Obama bite? He may not have much choice. First, Syria — unlike Iran — still has diplomatic relations with the US, although strained and below the ambassadorial level. Second, Obama wants to focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and having been schooled by Samantha Power and Robert Malley, won’t see Hamas (or Hezbollah) as the big problem. The big problem, according to Power and Malley, are the yahouds. Expect Obama to seek “change” by tacitly accepting the Iranian-Syrian terrorist axis of Hamas and Hezbollah in order to pursue a peace that none of the four actually want.

Unfortunately, I believe Ed has called this one correctly.

More on Assad's concept of 'preconditions' here.

Israel is going to have to chart its own course. I mentioned some of the reasons in my previous post. If Israel's enemies believe the Jewish people are going to accede to national suicide as a result of foreign pressure, they're in for a disappointment. Israel is going to face a tough decade ahead, no matter what the outcome of the elections are there next month.

UPDATE: An IDF soldier was killed and three were wounded in an exchange of gunfire at the Kissufim border crossing. Terrorists attempted to infiltrate Israel.

AL BEEB: ISRAELI SOLDIER KILLED NEAR GAZA

The time of the attack and the blatant breach of the ceasefire is not accidental, coming as it did on the eve of President Obama's Middle East Envoy, George Mitchell, to Israel.

The Hamas version of Hopenchange.

Sadly, Obama has stabbed Israel and Jewish voters in the USA in the Back.

It is clear that Iran = Hamas.

Hamas = Death and suffering to Israelis.

Obama will force you to dig your own grave and then his Iranian friends will bury you.

Since Obama is dealing deceitfully with you I would suggest you do the same with him.

It maybe possible for you to gain some political leverage by uncovering his background and any US or international laws he may have broken and make them public.

I doubt you will have much success. He is a clever lawyer.

Obama is the Trojan horse for Israel. Be wary of his “diplomacy” and actions.

All the suckup by Obama to the Muslim World won't change their hate for the infidel Jews and Christians and it will be taken not a sign of goodwill but as a sign America is weak and on the run.
