The first thing that gets lost in the fog of war is the truth. The truth is Israel didn't want to fight at all. And now we hear Hamas howling that Israel hit them after showing a level of restraint no other country in the world would have lived with. They are lucky to have Israel for an enemy. Any other adversary would have annihilated them already without a peep heard from the rest of the world. That's the truth about Gaza.
Thanks for the hat tip. Seeing that video gives those of us in the Diaspora an idea of just what Israelis are experiencing....but unless you are actually there, it is just not possible to even imagine this happening on an almost daily basis.
"Tseva Adom, Tseva Adom" gives me the chills. I cannot imagine what it does to the Israelis who are living with it, but can only pray that Israel will put an end to the arabs' all but declared war that Israel has had to fight for far too long once and for all.
As for any countries and world organizations who are trying to stop Israel? Let them try living under such conditions.
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. You can contact me at: IsraelMatzav at gmail dot com
